Testimonials

  1. Dear Al,

Just wanted to thank you and your staff for your patient assistance this past year with my selections of new plants (mostly conifers and acers) for my gardens. I enjoyed my (often wet) road trips a great deal, learned much and made up for the high gas prices with your very fair pricing. It’s always worth the 90 minute drive to discover plants I’ve only seen in books and on-line and get your valuable experience with growth habits in our north east region. Prepared with my list of coveted cultivars, browsing the nursery always leads me to amend my choices and I have yet to be disappointed. I’ll be heading your way again next spring and look forward to you and Chris advising me further as I continue to expand my landscape and knowledge.

    Thanks again.

  2. It's your choice.
Do you want the same old boring selection of plants and trees that you find at every big box store? Or do you want to be transported into a different world, with trees and conifers that you (and your neighbors!) have never seen before? Do you want to be "assisted" by young kids who don't know the difference between a tulip and a "tulip" tree? Or do you want to be welcomed and guided by true landscape professionals who know every detail about the myriad of unusual and fascinating specimens in their care?

It's your choice. Ordinary...or Oriental Gardens.

Thank you, Al and Chris, for the hours of enjoyment spent wandering in your wonderful place, and for the continuing pleasure we get every day from what we brought home from there. My only regret is that our yard is not bigger to bring even more treasures home!

From Chris B. in Syracuse, N.Y.
  3. I shop OGS for their great selection of the rare and unusual combined with friendly and knowledgeable customer service. Every time I visit I discover something new (that I really need).
  4. Oriental Garden Supply opened the world of exotic maples to me & has helped me prune & nurture mine through hard winters & some brutal summers; with their guidance I have managed to maintain several in stone troughs for years along with many fine dwarf conifers purchased at OGS. The staff is always friendly & very helpful. There is always something beautiful to see & much to learn throughout the season at OGS.

  5. I have been coming to Oriental Gardens for years. I can (and do!) spend hours taking in the unique and amazingly diverse array of specimens. It would be hard to imagine a more helpful, friendly or knowledgeable pair than Al and Chris. I have recommended them over and over to friends and clients. They are truly a treasure in our community.

  6. Over the last several years I have been adding a Japanese garden to the many gardens on my property. I've relied on the excellent advice and quality plants offered at OGS to put this new garden together. Because of the huge variety of maples offered and Al's guidance, I have the perfect mix of color and leaf forms as well as the growth habit I needed in each of the trees I planted. I bought small trees so I could grow them on myself and each one took right off. I would recommend OGS without reservation to anyone who loves plants and especially Japanese maples. Once you visit, you'll want one of everything!!

    I'll be visiting again, soon,
